GRID-TIED W/ BATTERY BACKUP HYBRID SYSTEMS
Can’t decide whether an off-grid or a grid-tied solar system fits the bill for you? A grid-tied with battery backup system essentially combines the benefits of both systems! Under normal circumstances, incoming power from your solar panel array supplies electricity for your loads while any excess power is pushed out on to utility grid lines spinning your meter the right way – backwards!
In the event of a power outage, solar power automatically transfers from grid synchronization to battery charging. All electrical circuits wired into your critical loads panel (see diagram below) will continue to function smoothly. For redundant backup, a generator can be integrated into this system.
Why choose Envirosol to install a hybrid solar system?
Envirosol is pleased to offer you a front-row seat on our hybrid solar system bandwagon. Since the emergence of hybrid inverters in the early 2020s, we have seen a massive trend towards adding batteries or hybridizing grid-tie solar systems.
Integrating batteries into an off-grid/grid-tie system is an art, and there is no substitute for real-life, hands-on experience.
Envirosol’s design and installation experts have fine-tuned our hybrid installations to ensure a smooth and seamless performance that includes:
- Critical Loads Backup Power
- Maximizing Power & Electric Bill Savings
- Automatic Transfer to Battery Power During an Outage
- Easy System Monitoring

BACKUP GENERATORS
Are you looking for another layer of backup?
Do you live in (or too close to) the snow belt?
A backup generator may be a valuable add-on to an off-grid or hybrid solar system.
Envirosol backup generator systems can be run on natural gas and/or propane. An optional auto-start feature protects your battery bank from over-discharging by automatically turning on your generator as needed during low-production weather systems and/or extended power outages.
